Residue and Tailings Management - Lynas Rare Earths

The Mt Weld processing plant produces a residue called tailings. The tailings comprise of rare earth minerals that are not recovered into the rare earth concentrate; the gangue minerals, ore minerals and water. The gangue minerals are dominated by hydrated iron oxides, mostly occurring as very soft, fine grained, porous, friable siltstone.

The Disinfection of Drinking Water - Drinking Water and ...

The goal of disinfection of public water supplies is the elimination of the pathogens that are responsible for waterborne diseases. The transmission of diseases such as typhoid and paratyphoid fevers, cholera, salmonellosis, and shigellosis can be controlled with treatments that substantially reduce the total number of viable microorganisms in the water.

Plant Residue - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics

Plant residues provide the major source of SOM, and their biodegradation is critical to ecosystem productivity. Because plants typically contain up to 60% cellulose (Kögel-Knabner, 2002), the decomposition of cellulose is a key activity of soil bacteria and is vital to the energy flow through soils and the cycling of N, P, and S, where immobilization generally accompanies cellulose …

Abstract. Diazinon [O,O-diethyl O- (2-isopropyl-4-methylpyrimidin-6-yl) phosphorothioate] was introduced as a plant protection product in1954.On a variety of cultivated plants and in soil, diazinon controls chewing, mining, and nonresistant sucking pests (e.g., locusts, s, beetles, leaf miners, gall midges, maggots, fruit flies, sawflies, aphids, jassids, and bugs).
